A hypnotherapist
is a trained professional who helps you use your own powerful subconscious
mind to change deep rooted behavior patterns by inducing hypnosis state.
The hypnotherapist induces the trance state or the hypnosis state when the
critical mind is temporarily relaxed and the subconscious mind is most susceptible
to suggestions. Everyone is susceptible (to one degree or other) to suggestion.
Your hypnotherapist will guide you through some exercises that will help
determine your degree of suggestibility. The hypnotherapist can then be
able to give appropriate suggestion to the subconscious mind with very little
resistance from the conscious mind and critical mind. Finally, your hypnotherapist
will induce a hypnotic state using individualized methods and techniques
based on the results of your suggestibility and the nature of your goal
or problem.
Hypnotherapist can use hypnosis to treat many problems and conditions
such as stop smoking, chronic pain, weight loss, stress & anxiety,
fears & phobias, self confidence, habit control, insomnia sports performance
and many others. Hypnotherapist would first discuss in the goal the client
wants to achieve or the problem s/he wants to resolve in detail. The hypnotherapist
can share in the experience of the client as she/he experiences it, the
more individualized the therapy can be and the greater its impact. The
hypnotist also prepares the client to enter hypnosis by explaining just
what hypnosis is, how it works and what she/he will experience; if you're
starting on a trip it helps to know how and where you're going.
